Vocation |
It is difficult to find the exact words when explaining what it means to have a monastic vocation, but above all, one principle or belief is certain beyond all things - gratuitous love from God, from which vocation is one of the many fruits of God's love.
Nuns and monks feel they have been called to this life, a life that is neither more worthy nor less worthy. The monastic life according to the Rule of Sant Benedict, promises heavenly reward if one lives dedicated to God and according to principles outlined in the Gospels.

The Focus of Monastic Life |
1.Prayer
The community acknowledges God, prays to God, praises and gives thanks to God. All united in his name is a testimony to his salvation. The most important celebration of the liturgy is the Eucharist. The Divine Office is a universal prayer that enriches the life of the individual and the community. Praying with the Psalms allows one to communicate with God and connect with the suffering, the problems, and the joys of humanity. The "lectio divina" invites one to listen to the words of God from an interior, spiritual silence. Daily prayers allow the community to achieve the most solemn state of mind that transforms the individual and community, according to God's will.
2.Communal Life
Communal life provides an invaluable motivation to grow in love for Christ and one's fellow siblings. It is a service of appreciation and love, and is in many ways a school of "convivencia" where a sisterhood or brotherhood is created. Each member of the community promises to live together in space and time to actualize themselves. The community provides a refuge or shelter from the light and darkness, the pains and joys of life, as well as support and solitude.
3.Work
According to Saint Benedict, work in itself is an indispensable element that provides sustenance, provides shelter for guests and travelers, gives alms to the poor, and helps individuals maintain an interior equilibrium. Saint Benedict sought to translate work as not only a service to society, but also as a way to grow as a human. Equally important, work serves as a form of discipline fundamental to any nun or monk that aids in the search for God. The community of Sant Daniel dedicates itself to the work of creating liturgical ornaments, the restoration of objects of art, and the painting of cloths for the benefit of the community.

Hospitality |
In addition to prayer, hospitality is the most common service that monasteries provide for the church and for society in general. For this reason, our monastery offers a hospice and aresidència.
